The Honorable Bogolo Joy Kenewendo, the youngest Member of Parliament in Botswana, started her studies in her hometown before pursuing her Master’s degree in the United Kingdom. She started her economic career in the Ghanaian Ministry of Trade and Industry as a trade economist and further pursued a career as an Economic Consultant in Botswana.
She started her political career in 2016, under the presidency of Ian Khama of Botswana when Kenewendo was elected member of the parliament. As of April 2018, Botswana made a historical achievement when the incoming president Mokgweetsi Maisi appointed Kenewendo to a position as the new Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry. At the tender age of 30, Kenewendo has already inspired a lot of young woman in Botswana an in Africa to become involved in politics and governance.
